Andreas Håtveit is King of Style

High-flyer Andreas Håtveit wins the crown at the King of Style in Stockholm. With a stylish and perfectly landed Double Cork 1080° Double Mute Grab the ATOMIC Teamrider claimed first place in the fascinating Big Air finals.

Last weekend the King of Style 2009 took place at the impressive Olympic Arena in Stockholm. 24 of the world's best freeskiers started at the Big Air and entertained more than 25.000 spectators on this beautiful bluebird day with excellent ski action. In an exciting final Phil Casabon initially took the lead with a super stylish Switch 1080° Double Japan Shifty and Sammy Carlson followed him with a grandiose Double Cork 1080° Mute Poke. But then Andreas came, made the same trick as Sammy but managed to make it even more smooth and stylish though he did a more difficult Double Mute Grab. He stomped it perfectly almost at the end of the landing and secured the win.

Nobody was able to catch him from there and even before Andreas did his last run it was clear that the Norwegian would be the winner of the 2009 King of Style. “I am so stoked about my victory here in Stockholm. I‘ve already had really good results in the last weeks, but still lacked a first place. The King of Style is the last one of the In-City Big Airs this Autumn and I‘m very glad this worked out here.“ The Canadian Phil Casabon ended up second and Sammy Carslon from the US had to be content with third place.

Andreas‘ teammate Elias Ambuehl also made it to the finals, but had some bad luck with the landings. The young Swiss had been also pretty constant this Autumn with very good results at the Big Airs, but this time he could not land his Double Cork 1080‘s cleanly and ended up sixth.
