Nordic Athletes Johnny Spillane

9 victories, 14 podiums, 82 Top Ten places

Strong Olympia-Backup of the ATOMIC Nordic Stars

Cross-country shooting star Hanna Falk and biathlon-routinier Andrea Henkel have two. Short time World Cup leader Christoph Sumann, the US-combined-duo Johnny Spillane and Billy Demong and ski flying World record-holder Bjoern Einar Romoeren all one: a victory – as well as the colour sergeant of the Italian Olympics-team, cross-country-athlete Giorgio di Centa, who celebrated his first victory at the last World Cup before the Olympic Games – the ninth World Cup victory of the ATOMIC Nordic athletes in this season so far.

So many magic moments, so many potential Olympic medal winners: whether in cross-country, in Nordic combined, in ski jumping or in biathlon: on time for the seasons highlight the shape of the ATOMIC Nordic stars is on top. “We can travel with a good feeling to Canada. At the Olympic Games the ATOMIC Nordic athletes are among the top favourites in all disciplines”, ATOMIC Nordic Director Roman Toferer shows himself excited about the Games. And the so far World Cup results say the same: two victories in cross-country (Hanna Falk already won twice in her first real World Cup season), two victories in Nordic combined (one for Billy Demong, one for Johnny Spillane), one victory in ski jumping (the World Cup-opening-victory of Bjoern Einar Romoeren), and three victories in biathlon – besides Andrea Henkel, who won two times shortly before the Olympics, Christoph Sumann for some days has been the first Austrian World Cup leader in biathlon thanks to his fifth World Cup victory in December 2009.

Top Team-Performance of the ATOMIC Nordic Stars

But not only on the top, also on places two and three: many ATOMIC Nordic athletes. 6 from the 14 podiums came alone from the ski jumpers: “Not only in the single-, also in the team-competitions our team is very strong – that can be seen by the good results. For example in Oberstdorf: among all four teams in the leadings positions there have been one or even two ATOMIC stars”, ATOMIC-ski jumping-expert Markus Kahr shows himself confident. Always good for a medal: Wolfgang Loitzl, “Sportsman of the year 2009”, and Janne Ahonen. Markus Kahr: “You always have to count on Janne during highlights like Olympic Games – and he really longs for his first Olympic single-gold.”

The ATOMIC Material Set-Up works

What already landed securely in Canada: tons of precious high-tech-equipment freight, which had been transported to Canada weeks ago – thanks to a perfect master plan. Part of the luggage: the ATOMIC Featherlight and the new ATOMIC cross-country shoes, which the Nordic combined athletes are already using since the competitions in Ramsau – where they celebrated one podium and 6 Top Ten places in only three days. Roman Toferer: “Concerning the equipment we are perfectly prepared... so let the Games begin ...”
